The painting is inspired by the evening atmosphere on the beach at sunset: the bright yellow-orange sky of the setting sun contrasts with a powerful, very dark blue. A moment to pause. The result is an atmospheric work that can transport the viewer mentally to the sea.
The maritime diversity of colors, shapes, and the complexity of nature by the sea - its power, delicacy, rhythms, phenomena... - is an important source of inspiration for my maritime paintings. Since I live on the Flensburg Fjord | Baltic Sea, I enjoy gathering inspiration for paintings like this on beautiful walks by the beach: feeling the wind in my hair, smelling the sea, hearing the sound of the waves and the cries of the seagulls, seeing the movement of color in the water and in the sky.
